Barricade Subfloor New Design

New-design-tile Using Barricade products allows you to experience the ultimate peace of mind that comes along with increased comfort, reduced environmental impact, exceptional long term building performance and lower utility bills! We are using today's green technologies to ensure a sustainable future for tomorrow's generation.

Drainage & Perimeter Gasket
The perimeter X groove system moves water to the floor drain, and the perimeter gasket system keeps the moisture away from the upper substrate.

Air space vs No Air Space
It is a common belief that more air under the subfloor is better. This contradicts proper building science. Having air space next to the concrete increases your chances of condensation. The Barricade Subfloor panels employ a rigid foam base that eliminates the air space using closed cell insulation which minimizes moisture and maximizes insulation.

XPS Insulation vs Air Gap
The common belief is that air space is a good insulator. This is true only if the air is not moving. Only stagnant air provides insulation. Any amount of air movement eliminates the insulating benefit. The XPS (extruded polystyrene) is closed cell, which means you cannot get air moving through it. This is what makes Styrofoam a much better insulation.
OSB Substrate & Top It Off Oriented Strand Board (OSB) is an engineered wood product that can accept a variety of floor coverings such as engineered hardwood, carpet, vinyl and pressure laminate. Barricade Subfloor panels can accept nails or screws without compromising the vapour barrier component of the product.
